Piscataway Fire District 2’s Mission is to ensure the safety of the citizens of, and visitors, to Fire District 2 by providing financial, administrative and organizational support to the municipal fire companies and to safeguard all money received by the District and properly distribute that money as needed.

Piscataway Fire District 2 covers the Southwest edge of Piscataway Township, Middlesex County, New Jersey along the banks of the Raritan River.

Fire protection is provided by three volunteer fire companies: Holmes Marshall, River Road and Possumtown each operating from their own firehouse. 

Major equipment includes 5 Pumpers, 1 Aerial platform, 1 Quint, 1 Rescue and 2 Utility trucks. 

All active firefighters are New Jersey certified Firefighter I or higher and all officers are New Jersey certified Incident Manager I or higher. 

Some firefighters obtained certifications in Vehicle Extrication, Hazardous Materials, Emergency Medicine and Instruction. 

The district maintains recertification of personnel and equipment to meet NFPA and OSHA standards.
